The Dept of City Planning's map is a proposed study area provided to CB 8 in response to a request from CB 8 for a rezoning. DCP has indicated that they do not have the personnel to conduct a District-wide rezoning at this time, and has instead proposed to study the area between the Prospect Heights Historic District and the Crown Heights North Historic District. The map shows the existing zoning and the boundaries of the proposed study area, The questions for the community include but should not be limited to: are the boundaries appropriate, and what rezoning would they like to see replace the existing zoning. For example, the North side of Pacific St between NY & Brooklyn Avs is not landmarked. Should that segment be included and rezoned to preserve a “neighborhood”feel? If so, what type of rezoning would be appropriate/most beneficial?
